In 1976, Dick and Rena Hall were offered the opportunity to buy a door company. Dick was working as a door salesman in Des Moines and after seeing the demand for a quality door company they decided to purchase it and the Door Store was born. The early years were focused on quality craftsmanship and a commitment to customer service. The office and shop were initially rented close to our current location, but as the 1980’s credit crisis hit they decided they needed to reduce their overhead. A shop and office were built just down the road behind Dick and Rena’s house (Pictured to the right). The overhead garage door business grew and so the Hall’s added new service techs. The Hall’s noticed that garage door work was slower at certain times of the year and keeping the new service techs consistently busy was becoming a problem. To solve this problem they started a fencing division and the Door and Fence Store was born. These two departments allowed for consist work for our service techs. This constant work paired with the Hall’s commitment to exceptional employee treatment has created life time employees with our combined experience over 100 years.
The Door Store has continued to grow and in 2001 after recognizing the need for more space the Door and Fence Store moved to it’s current location (Pictured below). The extra space allowed us to expand the fencing and door divisions. Providing more customers with exceptional quality and customer service.
